Lesson 7
Acts of a Jedi--Part 3: Respect
This is the first lesson taught by the Jedi Master Jason Skywalker,
renaming the Emotions line to Acts of a Jedi.
Without saying, an important lesson that Jedi must learn is the idea of respect. Respect is not just an idea of honoring
another person's wishes, but your own ideas and actions. Respecting yourself is different than self-indulging, or boasting.
Boasting, or self-indulging is where a person has pride in himself to make oneself look more important to those around that
person, which is an act of 'greed' or a step closer to the Dark Side. A Jedi must also respect his actions, in order to
remain strong. Jedi who are not mentally strong are considered "wishy-washy" and can be easily be distracted to follow the
Dark Side of the Force. A Jedi must therefore be strong on his beliefs of the Light Side if a Jedi respects himself or
herself.
A common practice is to respect others. It goes without saying that oftentimes respect is not given--it must be earned.
Jedi have been respected by others by the fair way of dealing with people...so shall you, young Padawan need to respect
others in order to earn respect from them. Simple things like obeying someone's command, honoring a person's wishes, or
even committing acts of kindness are often ways of earning respect, but remember to always do it from the Light Side of
the Force and never do or commit acts of fear or anger. This leads down the Dark Side of the Force.
May the Force be with you, young Padawan
