The Mission and Pact of the Jedi Order

Introduction

This pact and mission statement has been created and established on July 10, 2001 by Master Jason Skywalker, in the wake of events leading up to some questions with the ultimate goal or destination with the Jedi Order. The Jedi Order is an independant organization. Jedi are to uphold the tradition of being fair, and all for the good or light of the galaxy.

The Jedi Order is to help protect our galaxy from evil and manipulation of power in a fair and unbiased matter

Jedi Pact

Action

The Jedi Order shall consider each case, or seek upon the Force to protect the good or innocent individuals from evil. The Jedi Order will never discriminate on any individual, with the sole exception of membership.

Organization

The Jedi Order is a self-maintained organization, not relying on any outside support or government to rule or guide the Jedi Order. Likewise, the Jedi Order should never be allowed to side with any government unless the following two points apply: a) the government must be fighting to protect the innocent citizens, according to what the Jedi Council feels prevalent, and b) the government must not rely on Jedi as a demand or an expendable resource, but rather as an option.

Internal rule

The Jedi Order is to consist of 12 active Jedi members (preferably Jedi Masters, but there may be an exception for Knights as well.) The terms to be fulfilled are 5 life-time members, 4 members serving a long-term committment (20 years), and 3 members serving a limited term (2 years.) All of these positions are appointed by the Jedi Council, and all positions are replaced when vacant. Each Jedi serving on the Council serves a complete term from the time they begin until their term expires, or until death, whichever comes first. The Jedi Council is the ultimate deciding board to govern the Jedi Order including membership to conflicts and resolutions within and outside the galaxy. The Council is the ultimate source of deciding new members, and expelling old members, and must only base their judgement on Force users, and the light vs. dark side of the Force as per the Jedi teachings.
